Making decisions can be challenging, especially for tweens aged 10 to 14, as their brains undergo significant changes shaping how they think, feel, and act. Our online course helps parents and their tweens understand these age-appropriate behavior changes, equipping families with tools to navigate them together.
Through engaging lessons, you’ll learn about the re-wiring of the brain and how to help make daily decisions faster and easier. Practicing with DDM tools such as QuickSTEPS, habits and routines can be developed to make daily activities smoother and less stressful. These may include:
- Selecting clothes for the day
- Selecting breakfast
- Getting homework done on time
The course introduces the Deliberate Decision-Making Pathway(DDMP) for bigger life decisions, designed for parents and tweens to collaborate effectively. This approach ensures tweens feel heard while giving parents a clear sense of direction and control. These decisions may include:
- After-school programs
- Joining a sports team
- Selecting family vacations
Together, you’ll create a foundation for better decision-making, fostering trust, independence, and harmony in your family. Start by completing the Learning Motivator to prepare the brain for optimal learning and help you get the most out of the course.
