This worksheet is a tool that helps improve decision-making efficiency by improving awareness of the relevance of the situation to a person’s life.   The key to this worksheet is the sequence of steps that activate areas of the brain that result in awareness and enhanced focus, leading to improved motivation to make a decision.  The types of questions have been developed to provide the decision-making areas of the brain with the contextualized information they need to do their jobs better. The goal of this worksheet is to ascertain the likelihood of triggering the cortical-thalamic release that is necessary to begin solution-seeking. If the rewards and consequences are enough, the brain is well-positioned to seek a new solution to an inadequate result and subsequent unmet need.

You are using this worksheet because the old ways of doing things are no longer working.  The good news though is your brain is ready to make  change.   By understanding the struggling moment as progress, the decision maker is better positioned to provide to the decision making areas the inputs required to fully trigger the cognitive resources to make a better decision.   Then, the decision maker is better positioned to do the cognitive work to adapt to changes and know what is the best next step to make progress towards need fulfillment.  By completing the worksheet you will know if the outcome is worth continuing with the use of DIY DDM process.   Or its not worth the effort and  you will be able to move on and use your time and energy on something else that matters to you.
